 Elana WuRMT

Elana is a Registered Massage Therapist who graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy 2010 and has been working in the Richmond location since then. In British Columbia, over 75 percent of medical physicians regularly refer their patients to a RMT- and they make these referrals because massage therapy is effective as a part of a preventive care program. Examples of general wellness care include stress management, sports conditioning, injury prevention and pain relief. Furthermore, muscular injuries from car accidents or work injuries covered by ICBC and Work Safe BC are able to see massage therapy to help the process of recovery.

Elana did her continue education focused on techniques that emphasized in facilitation of the body's ability to heal itself. Throughout her studies, she has learned that:

The body is a unit. An integrated unit of mind, body, and spirit (Triune of Man - A.T. Still).
The body possesses self-regulatory mechanisms, having the inherent capacity to defend, repair, and remodel itself.
Structure and function are reciprocally inter-related.
Rational therapy is based on consideration of the first three principles.

Her treatment includes:

Osteopathic & Muscle energy techniques (From URSA Foundation Workshops)
Prenatal Massage (Certified through the BodyTherapy Education)
    Swedish & Deep tissue Massage
Myofascial & Trigger point release therapy
    Joint mobilization therapy
Education on homecare exercises for health maintenance and injury prevention
High quality Biotone lotions are used during treatments (no scent, no oiliness after treatment)
