After twenty years working in the environmental and fisheries sector, Sophie decided that it was time for a change. She has always found the interconnection between the body and mind fascinating and to deepen her knowledge, she decided to go back to school to become a massage therapist. She is currently a part-time student at Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT). Relaxation or stress relief focused, her treatment integrates techniques such as Swedish techniques, myofascial release, and trigger point release.

Born and raised in Reunion Island, Sophie moved to Canada in 2013, and settled in Vancouver, making it her new home. While she misses the activities that her island offered, such as surfing, hiking without the fear of meeting a bear, or scuba diving, Sophie is now enjoying the variety of activities that Vancouver has to offer, ranging from yoga, bouldering, cycling, swimming, to sailing. Her next challenge will be to learn cross-country skiing next winter. She is always keen to learn more and integrate her experiences in each of these sports into her bodywork practice.

In his free time, Matthew enjoys amateur powerlifting, playing Spike ball with friends, and recreational ultimate frisbee.

From Dennis: I am inspired to deliver therapeutic massage with a mindset of “treating people the way I want to be treated”, that is to treat all people with respect and dignity, and without any types of prejudice. I will be your healing facilitator. I will assist your body to ease your pain and discomfort, and help you gain back your physical functions and be at your best again.

It is my privilege to work with health care workers, construction workers, office workers, factory workers, athletes, self-employed, and other laborers. I always adapt to my patient’s needs, and will always consider your preferences (Relaxation, Deep Tissue, or Sports Massage). My foundation techniques include: Swedish techniques, Trigger point release, Myofascial release, Stretching and Strengthening. At the end of treatment, I can recommend remedial exercises to help you improve your posture and mobility when you are at home.

I am currently completing my clinical credits to finish RMT-program at Vancouver Career College – Burnaby campus, and hopefully be able to take the next board exam in September to become a licensed Registered Massage Therapist. Before I decided to study Registered Massage Therapy, I was working as a factory machine operator. Having experienced multiple labour jobs, working seven days a week, my body is very much familiar with body aches and pain. I am originally from the Philippines, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at St. Paul University Philippines in 2006.

During free time, I usually play with my 3 kids. I like bringing them to the nearby park to have a picnic, walk & amp; run, and play ball games. Yes, I always try to have fun while babysitting! I also like playing online chess, hiking, cooking and eating together with my kids!

Sincerely yours,
